The email box has boxes. The bottom box is where the content of the email goes. Above that are 4 boxes:
To:
In there you put the email address which should have only one @ in it. If your computer has the name in the address book, you can start to type the name and it will automatically fill it in.
Cc:
This is short for carbon copy. If you want to share the email with someone other than who it is to, you add a second name there. You should not put a name of people that don’t know one another. If you are sending to a list, use BCC:
Bcc:
Blind carbon copy means everyone who receives it can see the body of the email but can’t see who else it is sent to. This is a good way to not accidentally share the private email addresses of people.
Subject:
The subject line is what it is about. Try to make it specific and short so it is easier to find the email again. If the subject is “hi” spam filters may catch it and put it to trash.
Threads:
The email program will add Re: to the replies. If you forward the email, the program will add Fw: to the front of the subject line.
For business emails being clear, brief and with one subject per email makes it easiest to respond. Send separate emails for unrelated subjects.
When the emails all have one subject between people, it is called a thread.
